B. An Endowment
ARIZONA HEALTH SERVICES FOR AT-RISK SCHOOL CHILDREN
WHAT IS THIS ENDOWMENT?
The AZ Health Services for At-Risk School Children is an endowment created by the AZ School-Based Health Care Council as a source of funding for health services to at-risk school children in Arizona.
HOW WAS THE ENDOWMENT CREATED?
The endowment was created December 2001 with an initial cash donation of $5,000 from the AZ School-Based Health Council and a pledge from Arizona Public Service of $40,000.
HOW IS THE ENDOWMENT MANAGED?
The Arizona Community Foundation manages the endowment. Founded in 1978, ACF has become one of the nation’s largest and fastest growing charities. The Community Foundation manages more than 650 funds. It is a tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) charitable organization.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE ENDOWMENT?
The endowment will provide a stable funding source to subsidize the cost of health services to uninsured school children served by School-Based Health Centers.
SIZE OF THE ENDOWMENT.
The goal is to grow the endowment principal to one million dollars. Revenue generated from the investment will be distributed to School-Based Health Centers.
